No one likes cleaning toilets
If you haven't discovered the Bemis Toilet seat available at Lowes, Home Depot (and probably elsewhere) yet, you are missing out. I have always hated cleaning toilets, and especially hated trying to clean in and around the hinges. The Bemis toilet seat has snaps so they are easily removeable. What I love is being able to easily unsnap the seat, put it in the shower and spray it with hot water to clean. Then I just wipe it off and snap it back onto the cleaned toilet. I found a site on line with a YouTube demonstration. And, no, I don't have any stock in Bemis! I just like making a dirty job easier.

We have Bemis toilet seats in our sticks & bricks house...and they are also 'self-closing'....so the seat is always down!!!!! Now that's a great idea...my DH is looking over my shoulder and says it doesn't self close it closes gently...must be the engineer in him....all you have to do is touch the lid forward and it closes....that's self-closing in my book!!! Anyways, no more surprise hitting the cold porcelain in the middle of the night!!!!! A little more money but worth every penny in my book!

Another thing that works is the spray after shower cleaner stuff. Many brands. Scrubbing bubbles, etc. Just spray on and forget it. It really works great for the quick in-between times and does make it easier to clean when you do it the right way.

Based on your recommendation, we got one last year - we love it (especially me, because I clean the toilet!)
