Has anyone added ac into bedroom and tied to ceiling ducts?I am getting conflicting info on whether it can or should be done.

Our previous Montana (2008 3400RL) had front air that was not ducted. The current Montana in signature has ducted air in bedroom. I like the ducted much better. To get accurate answers to most subjects people will need to know what model & year Montana you have.

I put bedroom air in my last sob but it had been wired for it and there was a roof vent already installed so it was not a big deal. It did not hook into the existing ducts. I think snaking the wiring would be the hard part. The addition of a second air did take pressure off the main unit when camping in hot southern locations which would not maintain cool during the day.

If you take off the inside trim on the vent, can you see the two rectangular foam ac ducts to the rear? Of course, they should have something covering the openings. As well, can you see the yellow colored 120vac wiring? Being a 2014 model, I would think both are there. John

I agree with John. Keystone ships many of them with front AC's and they wouldn't change the duct work and wiring harness for some that don't.

We have a 2009 Montana and when we put the 2 nd air in everything was there to duct it. We did have issues finding someone who knew how to duct it and many dealers tried to say it couldnt be done because they have no idea how. We did find a qualified service center and the air is ducted and worth it.

We added the Low Profile Penguin to our 2010 2955RL and everything was there, duct work, power, and remote sensor to add the second zone to the t-stat. Just take someone that knows how to hook everything up and have the correct AC parts to interface with the present system.

I added one with the ducts my self. All the wiring was there. You need the right baffle to make the connection to the existing ducts. The thermostat also needs to be reprogramed for the second A/C. Mine works great. I would't recommend installing it without the ducts.

Hi, we are in the process of adding the bedroom AC on our 2011 3400RL ourselves and found wires hanging down that looked like telephone wires and one with two connections on it, what are these for? and do we leave the plastic housing that was there with the vent? Does anyone have a video or step by step procedure?
