Well it happened
A couple weeks ago we were traveling on I40 W through Tenn. to make a long story short, we got rear ended in a construction zone by a semi. He was going very fast at the time and drove the trailer through the rear window of the cab. It sheared the pullrite in half. He totaled our Montana and caused about 15,000 in damages to our truck. Good news my wife our dog and myself were not serverely injured. Maybe it will all work out someday and we'll get back on the road.

Sorry this happened, stuff can be replaced. It’s done and over no need to worry about it now.
The only thing that can’t be replaced is lives and you are OK.

No severe injuries is the most important outcome, thankfully.
All the other details will work out sooner or later.

Wow. That semi really had to be going at a high speed to cause all that damage. Thankfully both of you didn't have serious injuries.

Sadly, I'll have to agree. Not all are bad but many of the younger ones are different and new regulations have made making a living driving more difficult.

Hi
Glad to hear no injuries this is thanks to the new construction of this vehicle the head rest prevent a lot of injuries.
I had a woman run into the side of our TV in a parking lot a few months ago.
When her insurance adjuster called me the truck was all ready under repair. He became quite agitated about that. When I said there wasn’t anything to be confrontational about because it was only property damage that can be repaired he calmed down.
He then rented me a truck to use and paid all cost.

Glad you guys are safe and unhurt. Don't hesitate to hold the trucker's insurance carrier to the fire. As a commercial carrier, he should have plenty of coverage. Be sure to keep track of all of your expenses. A liability carrier has a lot more flexibility on settling claims, particularly when their client is a commercial company.

How terrible for you all! That must have been very stressful!
I sometimes see truck drivers texting while driving. It is easier to see this when you are in a pickup truck than in a car. That is very scary, knowing some truck drivers are that stupid.
There was a serious accident north of Toronto recently where the traffic was stopped because of another accident on a freeway and a couple of semis ran into the stopped traffic. There were a couple of tanker trucks in the mix and it created an inferno. Two people died.
There are way too many accidents involving semis anymore. There are a lot of good, professional drivers, but plenty of bad ones as well. It’s scary with more and more trucks on the road!

When you get paid by the mile, you drive fast. You see truckers tailgating at high speeds every day.

Texting ~~ Passed a trucker climbing a mountain in a truck lane reading the newspaper. On the down hill he had to be doing 10 mph or more over the limit and passed me while still reading a newspaper.
