2010 Montana 3400RL - Landing Gear

We bought our 3400RL used from someone who lived in it but did not take it anywhere. The manual which came with it is very vague on a variety of topics.

We are wondering about the front landing gear. How much travel up and down is there before you strip the gears. We have read several posts which indicate you should place a mark on the landing gear before it is fully extended. We are not sure what full extension is. We recently had to replace the landing gear because the gears were stripped. Would like to avoid this in the future.

Before we added Level-up I very slowly extended the gear until it reached full extention and then marked an inch lower and never went past that mark again.

Short answers: The gear driven leg extends 20", The drop leg portion extends 18". Reference the attached Venture manual.

This was a favorite topic before the arrival of the Level-Up system. Consequently there lots of postings than can be located just by doing a "Search". Here are just a couple:

Thank you. I had searched about the landing gear but couldn't find the distances.
