Electrical problem

2011 Big Sky 3580 RL :

At a RV park last night for a Halloween party. The wife had many lighted objects set up on the lawn area. All were plugged in to the outside receptacle near the storage door and the receptacle inside the storage compartment. About 6:00 pm it started to rain farely heavy for about 15 or 20 minutes then stopped. Around 8:00 it started to rain again. After about 10 minutes all the displays whent out, I assume water caused a short that tripped a breaker. I looked at the electrical panel and can not see any sign of a fuse being out. Everything else in the trailer is working fine. The scribbling on the electrical door tells me nothing. What is the secret to finding the fuse or breaker that is out?

The outside plug-in is hooked to a GFI somewhere in the rig. Look at the plug-in in the basement, the bathroom or the kitchen and you'll probably find one is tripped then you'll know which one controls the outside plug-in. Had a similar occurrence at our S&B during our daughters wedding. Folks on the deck had food warmers plugged in and the brides maids had as many hair curlers as possible plugged into the bathroom. We couldn't figure why we kept loosing power on the deck. The folks in the bathroom knew what was going on and kept resetting it, but we hadn't thought that they used the bathroom GFI for the outdoor plugs to save a few bucks.

I think the outside receptacles are GFCI's with a reset button in the middle. If that does not work, chances are there is water infiltration into the receptacle itself. A hair dryer usually does the trick or if it is a dry, sunny day, time will evaporate the water. It seems to be a common problem on the outdoor receptacles.

Finally got to the RV today to check the electrical problem. Once again this site solved my problem. The outlet plug next to the bathroom sink has a GFI on it and it was tripped. Reset the switch and both the outside plugs are working. Love this site.
