Smoky Mountains
Coiming to my Montana Experts again. We're planning next summer's trip to the Smoky Mountains. Any recommendations for campgrounds? Is there any Topsail type campgrounds in the Smokies? We don't want a parking lot type park but need hook ups.
Thanks in advance!

Try River Plantation RV park in Sieverville, Tn. The Mid Atlantic Rally group is there right now. We love it there. There are many to choose from. We used to like River Edge in Pigeon Forge but campsites are way too close together and not made for these big Montanas. Have fun.

River Plantation 4X! Don't trust your GPS however! It will have you turn right and go into a residential area. CALL THE CAMPGROUND AND GET THEIR DIRECTIONS! They will tell you to turn onto the street to the south of the Zippy Car Wash and that is it! It is on the east(left) side of Hwy 441 and heading South from I-40! Excellent campground!

We have stayed at upthecreekrvcamp.com and had a great experience. Check their website.

If you want to enjoy the Smoky Mountains and avoid the high traffic area try Big Meadow Campgrounds in Townsend. This town's motto is "The quiet side of the Smokies". But if you like all the activities and "shopping" we agree on River Plantation.

Camp in Pigeon Forge about everyother weekend. Normally stay at Camp Rivers Landing next to Rivers Edge. The nicest one in Pigeon Forge is Pine Mountain RV Park. Black top steets and paved sites. Don't like River Plantation because of the rock streets and you have to set in traffic if you go anywhere.

I agree with FordMan1966 about Pine Mountain RV Park, I couldn't remember the name on my previous post. Very nice, a little expensive. They have paved some of the streets in River Plantation. Have fun.
