Landing gear motor loose

So, the other day I had mentioned to Mary Lou that I had seen a remote switch for the landing gear and I thought that it would be a nice toy. Lo and behold, two days later I see here on the MOC a pointer to:
http://www.westhaverassociates.com/zaxis/

Sez I to self, "Self, that's the ticket!"

I ordered it early Thursday morning.

Saturday morning, it arrived!!!!

Saturday afternoon, it was in place & I had a 90% grin on my face. However, after I had it installed and I was watching the landing gear works in operation for the first time, I noticed that the landing gear motor was loose. I can move it around by hand quite a bit. I didn't have the time then to look at it any closer so I'm not sure just how much "slop" it is supposed to have. I wouldn't have guessed that there should be any... But I didn't see any obvious loose screws or bolts. It almost looks like it just sits`in place somehow.

MIMF, Anyone, Do you have any comments? What should or should't I be expecting here?

Eric

On mine there is a "little" movement when the thing is working. Not a lot. It would appear to be "normal". I've checked the bolts several times and they seem to be fine. So far so good.

Eric,
Better check out that landing gear motor some more. On our maiden voyage, they cross-shaft from the motor side to the off side landing gear broke. When I got the rig to the dealer, and started to drop the one "working" landing gear, the entire motor assembly dropped down on the battery boxes. This could be a problem! Good Luck!

The landing gear motor on both of our trailers has been "loose". I had to replace one for an unrelated reason, and it seems that is the way they are intended to be. (the mounting screws are tight, but the motor mount has some float)

I think the landing gear motor does have some movement so when it gets to the top or bottom it won't break anything. I'm not positive, the remote looks great. Larry & LaVonne

Well, everyone seems to think that theirs moves as well, so I won't get too excited. All the screws & bolts are snug, so it appears that this is by "design".

Thanks all....

The motors will jump out and bypass in an overload siituation.
Drop your rear jacks and raise the front jacks up
until they jump out and bypass.
Yep, found out the hard way on this one, I forgot to raise my rear jacks when I raised the front to hook up.
