National Rally Parking team

Give me a "P"
Give me a "A"
Give me a"R"
Give me a "K"
What's that spell?
What's that spell?
What's that spell?

Well, come on all you big strong men (and women)
Uncle MOC needs your help again.
Got himself in a terrible jam
Way up yonder in the Goshen.
Put down your books and pick up a map
We don't have time for a nap.

And it's one, two, three,
What are we parking for?
Don't ask me I don't give a damn
Next stop is the Goshen.

And it's five, six, seven,
Open up that big main gate.
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee we're all going to have a really fun time

And if you want to start having fun before every one else you can sign up for the "Parking Team". This is really one of the high lights of the entire rally. Okay, maybe not the entire rally, but the rally won't start until every one is parked. And we can only do that with volunteers.

There will be multiple additions to this thread and if you have suffered with me this long than you might have what it takes to be on the "Parking Team". Those that have volunteered in the past will know how much fun this is. And if they say otherwise they are wrong., or maybe just mistaken. So give it some thought and if you want to be part of the bestest group of MOCers at the rally, Please submit your Name, arrival date, best guess at arrival time (AM or PM helps),whether you are left or right handed, $27,412.25 in small bills to cover my bourbon habit, and a short fourteen page single spaced essay on what you can do for the "Parking Team". All entries are final. Not legal in all fifty states.

And I thank you for your support.

Woody

"Parking Team" coordinator until I get lucky and the coup is organized and successful.

Thanks Frank. It should be another good one. Rumor has it that most MOCers will be arriving early. No rest for the weary.

We can be there around 10 am if you like. Or earlier. I know you need your coffee first.

Thanks for the time. Yes, we will need people on the seventh. That may be our busiest day. If you could add your name it would give us something to call you. Also, parking is not our only job. We'll get into that later.

Hi Woody, my name is Neil Katz, my wife is Gail Robillard, hence “Robokatz”. Gail may be available to help as well with parking or anything else you may need, but since our 1st rally we have no idea what our schedules will be. I asked our dog Lucy if she would like to volunteer, but she fell asleep and never got back to me.

Look forward to getting more info.

Thanks Neil and Gail. There is nothing official scheduled for the seventh and eighth except maybe packet pick up and camp fires in the evening. Coming in early just gives you a chance to catch your breath before the rally starts. It also allows you to join the "Parking Team" to help others get settled in. It's a great way to meet people. I think Lucy might have selected hearing.

Sorry, just responded to the above question with my name, but forgot to add your quote…now my post a minute ago should make sense.

I think late morning would be great. And yes I do. I think we will be very busy that afternoon.

New guy here: Clark McChesney - looking forward to helping with this task!!
Arriving on Sep 7th. Should be there around 2 pm, maybe earlier. The rest of my essay will be attached to a future post in pdf format with a security password so that others can't cheat off my paper! Thanks!

I can see that you're going to fit right in Clark. Thanks for helping out. There will be instructions and job descriptions in future posts. I don't want to scare anyone off but I do want to build the suspense. I noticed you didn't mention anything about the money. Accident or intentional?

Sorry, I'm a Scotch drinker and so it's against my principles to financially support the consumption of bourbon.. But, perhaps we can work something out to charge each parked vehicle a small fee towards your habit!!

Thanks, I already had you down. You keep volunteering this often and you can be the coordinator. The hours are bad but at least the pay sucks. Even with the doubling of the pay I was promised. Thanks for the date and time update.

Another fellow Hoosier. Thanks. Glad to see you make it back for your second Rally. Any idea what day you're coming in on?

I don't know your schedule but if you're bored you can always come tuesday afternoon. Sometimes it's nice to get set up before the crowds arrive. If you do be sure to park legally and hope your rally site is open. If not wednesday AM would be nice.

Timing is everything, as I am reading your post I am half way through an Old Fashioned (bourbon based) I made a few minutes ago (with Luxardo cherries of course). I have only owned an RV for a few weeks and still have not mastered backing up, so seems I would be perfect to help others park! My 1st rally as well, we arrive in the 7th, sign me up!

Fred Augustin will arrive on the morning of the 7th or if you need, I can come in on the 6th, anytime of the day. I would be happy to assist the parking team.

I am right handed, I have stashed a cache of $27,412.25 in small bills to be found. See you in November!
