Trees
For three years now, the tree at our winter site has tried to catch the roof. Today it happened. Before Karen could get me stopped, the tree got about 2 feet of the roof. Guess I make a trip to CW tomorrow to get some eternabond to make some emergency repairs.

It just sickens me to hear of that...I've been there too.
All the times I've backed mine up, and all it takes is just once to ruin your day. Hopefully it didn't damage the aluminum radius underneath.

Fortunately no it didn't. I have a couple of nice dents and I have to straighten out the gutter.

Ahem...had to straighten my gutter too...
...a little pointer - use something like a stiff putty knife inside the gutter to pry against instead of direct contact with the outside edge of the gutter.
It will eliminate the marks where you pry and give a much better outcome.

Hopefully your insurance will cover the repairs. On our 25ft nash it cost $5000 to replace the roof

Hmm...you said a couple dents...as in the top radius along the edge of the roof? This is aluminum under there too. If that is dented, it could take a bit of doing to repair that.
If that deep of a repair is beyond your skillset, it might be a claim like hookman said.

I've gone to swat it several times! It's too realistic.

I, what could have been a disaster at Sisikyou RV Park site # 309, just in case there is one of you guys out there that ever gets that spot there are two branches 1-1/2 to 2 inches in diameter that really scraped the top of our Monty last month I was very lucky it didn't rip the rubber while I was backing in, I was able to pull forward and dislodge it. I sure hope that your damage isn't going to be too costly.

Checking for Branches at a campsite is something we have learned to do. In Colorado we actually had the campground folks out with a Chainsaw cutting off limbs. They said..you can get around them....I said .. and if I don't you will of course pay the damages..they went for the chainsaw..

The interesting thing is, the lowest branch of the tree was cut off during the summer. We had asked that the campground cut it down because it just barely missed the roof.

We had an encounter with a tree one time this year. We were lucky it only caught the shroud on the 2nd AC in front. Cost about $104 to replace the shroud. AC was fine. Very very lucky. Of course this happened when I was driving!!!

I'm with Rich - we were at the same CG where he had problems.
I carry *really* sharp pruning shears and a tree saw. If I get to a spot where I think pruning needs to be done, I do it. If the park owners say something to me, I tell them: If you had a regular pruning schedule, I wouldn't have to do it for you. If they tell me to leave, I will cancel the charge on my credit card: $50 versus $50,000. So far, I have never been told to leave.

Trailer Trash, we had #309 this year at the Siskiyou rally. We didn't have any trouble that I am aware of, but then, those branches might have really grown a lot this summer, or we parked a different way. It was NOT a good site, way to tight the way we had to park....or maybe we were just lucky.
