Back for the dealer..Excellent Adventure
Hi everyone,
Well I spent Sunday evening until Weds morning living at Tri-Am RV in Ocala. Great experience. They took my list and took care of everything. Went over Miss Montana from top to bottom. They also took a great deal of time explaining the technical side of things to me. I learned how to change the Anode Rod, draining the hot water tank, hand crank the slides and landing gear, all about the water pump, found out there is no over ride feature on LadyRam when connected to trailer brakes so always unplug when stoping for more than two hours and always unplug before connecting to shore power. I learned a lot I didn't know or only had a vague idea about. They were great.
They also took care of the problem of mushrooms growing out of my bedroom carpet on the step at the head of the bed.
I did have to pay $50 for them to fix the mess the cable guy did to my Antenna connection when he installed my internet connection. Beware of the cable guy!
During the time I was there I took a day trip to Cedar Key and had a great time visiting with the locals. I also went to the Appleton Museum in Ocala and saw an exhibit by Clyde Butcher. He's takes fabulous black and whites of natural Florida.
Found out the number one Warranty/Repair issue with all RV's is leaks. The number two problem is generally a problem due to the owner not doing routine maintenance. Found out Mud Dauber's love the smell of propane and to take the cover off the hot water ignigtion switch and periodally check for the little critters. Found out if you don't check things on a regular basis critters can cause serious problems.
While I was there a brand new Big Sky came in for a total roof replacement. The poor guy made a mess of his roof on his first trip out. Trees. Forgot to look up. He was good natured about it even though it was a very expensive lesson.
I'm sure a lot of what I learned many of you already know but for me it was a good trip back to the dealer and time well spent. Stopped in an empty rest area on the way back and practiced my backing skills. That was time well spent as well. I do need some better mirrors. The stock on LadyRam just don't cut it. They are OK for towing but not for backing. I learned that I'm a good backer with a spotter, but with these mirror's and tight situations, backing without a spotter takes forever.
It was an Excellent Adventure!
