Landing Gear Upgrade
Has anyone upgraded to the UltaFab duel motor landing gear on their fifth wheel? I have have a 2011 and it looks like an easy swap, but is it worth it?
Thanks

If you have a current electric setup. I think a lot of these trailers have hydraulic like mine

Are you having problems with your current set up? We had an 2006 for 17 years, single motor landing gear. I kept the legs and gears well lubricated and never had a problem. One exception with a roll pin falling out, which has nothing to do with the motor set up.

I had a pin break also, but fixes it. I find it slow and thought the levelling might be easier with independent legs.

I replaced my single motor set up with 2 independent motor set up. A much stronger, faster, quieter set up. Each leg has it's own grease zerk fitting. From day 1 I never cared for the 1 motor setup.

My 2006 had a single motor. After some years (6-8??) it stopped raising the rig. Took to dealer and they ordered a new one. Came in and installed on Thursday afternoon. Gave me some extra 'inline' fuses'. What the heck, I never had those before. Decided to test it while at dealer. It went up REAL fast, but fried the fuse before done. Dealer had ordered the wrong one. They paid to overnight it from Indiana to Iowa and reinstall it the next day and I finally got on my way!

I have a 2006 3000RK (note-no HYD or auto leveling)
I made the change to the newer ultrafab sys with twin motors a number of years ago.
My single motor system had failed.
With the Dual motors there is no cross over bar in the forward compartment.
You will have 2 spring loaded switches - 1 for each side.
My switches are installed side by side in the LP compartment.
I put a angle bar to protect them and use as a brace when holding both the switches at the same time. (strong switch springs)
The legs are much stronger then original and have a higher weight capacity.
Much better then the original sys. No issues since installed
