Front Feet
Went to lower, the front feet to hoot up and take to the storage lot last Saturday. Pressing the button in outside panel (up or down) did nothing, same for stabilizers in the back. Check the circuit breakers around the battery, all appeared fine, hooked backed up the shore power, still no joy. Anyone have ideas? Didn't have a lot of time to troubleshoot, since it was almost sunset.
I was able to get the feet to move by using the remote control, but nothing from the outside switch.

I would guess it is the circuit. Check the fuses first inside (12v side) and then check the in-line fuse by the battery. I assume you have power in the rest of the coach? Ours is in storage or I'd go out and check to see which fuses affect both the rear stabilzers and front legs. Good luck.

7.3Ford,
If you got the circuit to work with the remote then you know it isn't the circuit fuses or breaker. It would have to be in the switch wouldn't it?
Let us know what you find wrong.
Thanks,
HamRad

I had the same problem with my 2010 when I went to pick it up. The tecs played with it a bit and got it working. When I arrived home I had the same problem and called the dealer. The next morning they showed up in my driveway and replaced the circuit board. Not only good service as they had to drive 130 miles round trip to do this. It has been working great since then.
Waiting for the snow to go and spring to come so I an get on the road.

I too had a similar problem.
The switch that goes through the wall into the propane tank....the piece of heat-shrink on there, in my case, was not shrunk and I had set something on there that pulled the switch out of the harness.
Pull the heat shrink back and check to see that the switch is actually plugged in.

Do the new ones with the remotes still have the inline fuse in the front locker like our older models do?

Steve, he said it worked when he used the remote.....the fuse would have to be good if it worked, unless the remote somehow by-passes the fuse.

I love the Keystone Owner's Manual... pretty much useless.. no wire diagrams, very little information on the electrical system. I believe slide motor and feet motor are on self resetting circuit breakers near the battery. I know the feet work with the battery disconnect turned off, so it doesn't go thru the main circuit break panel and fuses. Will have to go over to storage and check connections under the shrink wrap. Since both front jacks and rear stabilizer jacks did not work, I think it is down stream from the panel. I did install a 50a transfer switch, but that wasn't any where near the battery or switches. Hopefully I will get some nice weather, and can figure it out at the storage area.
Just remember something else, I took the LP Bottle out on the left side to get if filled.. Maybe that move a wire or something.

If it is just the front legs: there is an inline fuse in the main cable going to the motor for the front legs. Hard to see, but it is a square box inline with the cable. Pry the box cover open and there is a 30 amp regular two prong fuse in there.

John & Cindy,
I remember looking for a CB for the landing gear in our Hickory and found it has been replaced with a auto reset breaker. If it is your front and rear landing gear my guess would be 1) Either both switches are bad, which seems unlikely or 2)The remote receiver module could actually be bad even though the landing gear and stabilizers work with the remote. Here is a link to the Lippert Sheet with info on our remote systems including the wiring diagram and some basic troubleshooting: LIP Sheet 0113
I hope this helps and keep us posted on your outcome.
Jack

Jack,
Thanks for the link, that is what I need to troubleshoot. Wonder why we didn't get that with the trailer... explains operation of the remote... The sales guy didn't know how it worked when we did the PDI, and had to ask the Mechanic.

John & Cindy,
I'm glad the information will help you out. I too was surprised that we didn't get something like that when we picked up our rig....at least the part that explains the operation and reprogramming of the key fob transmitter and the receiver. I found that if you replace the battery in the key fob, then you need to reprogram the system (at least that is how ours is). Here is another link to ALL of the "LIP SHEETS" which are just mostly 1-2 pagers on different components: LIP Sheets
Not all apply to our rigs, but there are a few that do so it it worth the time it takes to go through them. I hope you get this one figured out.
Jack

Update, I went over to storage lot three times since Friday. I checked and double checked connections, fuses, and circuit breakers, still no joy with exterior switches. This morning I when over to take Monty back to Camping World Statesville. Backed in, hocked up the cord to the truck, and tried again... it worked fine... Disconnect the cord from the truck, and it still worked... needless to say I didn't take to Camping World. Only thing I can think of is there is some kind of short in the cord that plugs into the truck, that is causing the feet not to work.

This new twist really has me scratching my head. Let me think about it for a while and if I come up with any ideas I will let you know.

Bear,
I believe Keystone started adding the remote system to the 10th Anniversary Editions in 2008 and later model Montanas. Lippert components is the manufacturer of the remote system so you may want to contact them and check if you can retrofit your rig. Here is a link to their website and a phone number: Remote Control Flyer. Phone: 574-535-1125. Hope this helps.

Last weekend I picked up the Monty from storage to work on the battery box and inverter. Outside switch worked fine for hooking up, and unhooking, but as I was raising to level the coach, halfway up it stop working.... have tried several time (thinking something might have got hot), but still no joy. Again the remote works fine.
