We are looking toward retirement and snowbirding in Florida with friends. As such we are considering the area between the Gulf Coast and Okachobee (because we like both freshwater and saltwater fishing).
We are considering buying a small tract of land that about 4 to 6 campers can park on with a common area (circle the wagons so to speak). If it happens to be on a river or such even better.

Clewiston would be a great area. Think Roland Martin’s marina .
Just west is more mini ranch type development, south in agricultural.
Only thing about gulf area is Ft. Meyers is going to be expensive.
I know nothing about what would be involved in developing what you have in mind.
Just be careful to research both the zoning and the water and sewer situation before you buy. As you know, we have one of those in Kansas and if it was 10 miles east of here it wouldn't have been legal to do it.
