larger propane tanks...

Has anyone changed to 40# tanks? If so what is required? Can the compartment support the additional weight? Rig is 3455SA...
Thanks !!!!!!!

I switched to 40 pound tanks in our 2011 3750FL. No modifications were necessary, other than a strict weight lifting regimen!!

Neighbor of ours in Fla winter time has 40lb tanks in his unit (sob). I personally don't want to lift that much extra weight, getting old I guess!

I would wonder about room. I was looking at those new see through propane tanks. They stand a bit taller than the 30 lb tanks, and I imagine 40 lb would as well. On the port side, the regulator/switch over unit is mounted on the wall above the tank, and I believe it would be in the way.

I upgraded to 40 lb. tanks on our 2011 3750FL. The only modification was to move the regulator to the left 4 inches since the new tanks are taller. The added weight is something to consider when lifting, but have had no support issues on the trailer.

I too have upgraded to 40 pounders, Road side no mod needed, curb side needed a slight relocation of the switchover regulator. Heavy yes, but like the extra capacity.
