Very shortly after we purchased our new Montana, I scratched the drivers side rear. It was long and it was pretty deep, but it didn't destroy anything. I was having some custom work done on it from my dealer (awing install on the opposite side), and talked to them about the scratch. To fix properly would have been a very expensive endeavor. I made the suggestion to them, and this is exactly what they did:
Remove the rear section graphics, fiberglass Bondo the scratch. Sand it smooth and place a new graphic directly over the affected area. No repaint, just sand it smooth and stick the graphic right on top. And it worked.
Granted, the graphic is not in the original position, but if you didn't know, you'd NEVER know. Scratch and the repair will never be seen. "They" did a great job!
