Opinions - Hwy 50 Colorado
How is the pull on Hwy 50 from the east (Ks) to the west side of Colorado (Delta) (Monarch Pass)?

Maybe I should just wait this one out as I cannot answer with direct experience. I was just over Monarch in January (ski trip) but that was in an automobile. We actually go over Monarch serveral times a year, but just never pulling our Montana. I don't see that there would be any problem. It is a very good highway and "slow lanes" at intervals. We did pull over Wolf Creek Pass last summer, and it seems to me that Monarch might be an easier tow than Wolf Creek. But then, we had no problem over Wolf Creek. Surely someone with direct experience will be along, but Highway 50 from Pueblo to Montrose is a very familiar route for me. Just not with the RV.

I have pulled my TT over Monarch. It isn't that bad. Good highway, no problems if you don't get into a hurry.
Happy camping.

2 summers ago, I pulled my 2955RL from Leadville to Montrose on Hwy 50. Then turned south to Durango through Ouray and Silverton. We had some challenges on some of the switch-backs but overall had no problems. The road to Montrose through Monarch Pass was reasonably easy. However, watch the weather!!! It can surprise you when you get to the high altitude. Check out this URL: [/url]
Happy trails

Wow! Not about Highway 50, but about the drive from Ouray to Durango. I'm not sure I'd want to make that journey with a fifth/wheel. Again, I have been over that route many times, but always in an auto.
Our daughter lives in Buena Vista, so we are there several times a year. Your pulled through there, of course, on the way from Leadville down to highway 50.
As you see by my post above, we pulled over Wolf Creek last Summer with construction on both the Pagosa Springs and the South Fork sides. Really no problem at all.
