Replace Lippert touch pad on Montana 3000re
the rear button on my lippert level up is not working. See attachment of TouchPad. I wanted to replace it but I'm not certain on how to take it off. Has anyone done this? It appears based upon me trying to remove it that the touch pad is attached to the white background with four screws but they don't show on the front of the TouchPad or underneath the printed pad on the front of the touchpad. Removing the four screws at the corners of the white background doesn't allow me to get the TouchPad out. Also tried to remove the buttons under the touch pad but couldn't get them off either.
As far as the original problem, the front levelers work normally both in extending and retracting . The auto level works fine but using the retract and the rear button does nothing. I've been able to retract the rears by going to manual mode and retracting the left and the right. Does this sound like a touchpad problem?

if you look in the center top above the word electronic you will see a little slot where you can put a small slotted screwdriver push it down and it should pop out

I don’t think those buttons do anything, when you’re in auto level. Only when in manual mode. If I’m understanding this post correctly!

after reading rest of your post i dont think it is your touch pad either. i think you can only retact back jacks in manual mode. you can call lippert customer service they can answer that question for you. I hear they have good customer service

Dhuhn, thanks for the info. I will look at it in the morning. In the past I have been able to use the rear button to retract the four rear stabilizers.

Auto button extends and levels all six stabilizers. When I want to retract the 4 rear stabilizes I would turn on the unit, then push the retract button, then push the rear button. I have done this around 100 times in the last four years and all four have gone up just fine one at a time. I have also gone to manual mode and the front, left, and right buttons work just fine both in extend and retract mode. Only the rear button does nothing.

Thanks dhuhn, I was able to disconnect the touchpad. Easily replaceable. Will let you know if replacing it fixes the problem.

i don't see how old your rig is but you can call lippert and try to convince them to replace it. Or, just order a new one.
easy, pop out and put the new one in.

Just a question: When do you need to retract just the rear legs?
The only time that I do that is when we are getting ready to leave the campsite. At that point, I just go to the auto retract mode, and hit "enter" (I believe). I'm not saying it's wrong, I've never had a need to put the rears up by themselves...

If you have manually leveled your unit, the "Retract All" feature will not function, so you retract the rears and then the front manually.

Ah. I've never leveled manually. So far, knock on wood, we've always been able to auto level...

We're currently on the road and when just stopping for the night, I won't disconnect the TV if the site is level enough, then I'll use manual mode to put the jacks down since you can't auto level while hooked to the TV. Been doing it that way for 10 years now with 3 different fifth wheels.

That makes sense. We have never left our tow vehicle hooked up under any circumstance, but we've never stayed in it on the road. If we were ever to do that, I'd probably put the jacks down too. I hate a bouncy 5er!!

I had a similar problem with a button that stopped working. I ordered a replacement control pad from Amazon and it was easy to install.

The enter button on my touchpad failed earlier this year. dhuhn gave you good info for how to remove the touchpad from its frame. Easy fix.

Thanks for all the replies and information. i never thought to push retract and then push autolevel. I'll have to try it. I talked to Lippert and they offered a 10% discount but
amazon was still cheaper, faster, and free returns if it didn't fix the problem. I got it and now the rear button works in manual and also in straight retract mode if the rear stabilizers are down. The new touchpad came with the black framing and both needed to be replaced because the method used to connect the two changed from 2016 to now.

If you you leveled using autolevel, and then push retract and then autolevel to bring up the rear stablizers what does that do to the front stabilizers? Do you know if retract, autolevel works on 2016 Level-One systems?

I have a 2017 3000re with the Level-up system. When I have the RV connected to the truck and have done a tug test, I use the Up or Down arrows to scroll to auto retract and then hit the enter key and all the 6 jacks will retract.
