Folks that do usually run the pink stuff in and run the washer until it gets in there also.

If your unit is a Splendide, winterizing instructions are listed on their website. We do it using our convenience center winterizing port. After engaging the bypass for the water heater, we run the washer on cold and then hot (some recommend using a warm water setting which allows the pink stuff to flow through both, but we do it separately to insure that both lines are filled). The pink stuff is pumped in until it visibly appears in the bottom of the washer on both temperatures, and then the spin cycle is engaged. Takes less than a gallon of pink stuff once you get the hang of it.

I have AC power, so I put two 60w bulbs in the tub...no pink stuff.
