Thetford Aqua Magic II Leaking on back

Well the first possible significant issue with our new 3160. The Thetford toilet (Aqua Magic II) is leaking on the back side of the sprayer best I can tell. This only happens when you flush it. Still trying to isolate the exact source but it seems like the area where the water attaches to the bowl rinse from the outside. I couldn't feel anything loose but will keep looking. Any thoughts/suggestions of what to check/look for would be appreciated. Trying to avoid a 2+ hour drive to the dealer if possible for a warranty call.

Thanks in advance.

Mark

On the other hand it is a Tetford and you might want to consider replacing it with a Dometic before the seal won't hold water.

Replace it with a Dometic 310 or 320. They are a lot better toilet!

Then use the Thetford to hold political campaign signs in your front yard!

With water turned off and toilet pedal held down to kill water pressure and drain toilet line, you should be able to see if the hand sprayer attaches to vacuum breaker or water valve and if the connection is just friction or has clamps. I seem to remember it attaches at top of toilet and was friction fit into the back of the toilet for the rim wash, so you should be able to pull it out and then see about sprayer attachment. John

I'll take a look at that tomorrow though mine doesn't have a sprayer attachment. It is coming from the vacuum breaker or the area around it. It seems to do it most when you are holding the pedal down partially to refil the bowl after flushing.

Mine with the sprayer attached directly out the back. Either over or under the water inlet, I don't remember which.

Less than 1/2 hour to replace the toilet, regardless of how new it is, with a new Dometic, and you will greatly reduce your stress level worrying about flooding your rig.
