Black Streaks on Dining Slider Wall
Didn't see this on our 2005, but on the new 2015 3440RL just about every time we open the large dining slider there are very pronounced vertical black streaks that appear, sometimes from the top to the bottom of the slider wall. With some elbow grease I can remove them then like magic they will reappear. On my 2005 I used silicon spray on all my slide seals and never had this problem. I haven't treated the new seals yet, not even 90 days old. What is the current feeling about using silicone spray on new seals? I called my dealer and they suggested this to help. What do you folks think? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

I had the same issue but it wasn't until my 5'er was much older. I used Aerospace 303 on them and it eliminated the problem. I treat the wiper gaskets once a year. Jim

Have had the issue since new. Tried products for seals...didn't help. Did find that boat soap makes it easy to take off. Tired of all the scrubbing so yesterday I sprayed them with aerospace 303. Will see how this works soon as we leave santa fe skys the first of september for points west. John

I too had these streaks. I cleaned them off and they came back pretty fast. Then I used the dry lube stuff for seals and haven't had much of a problem.
Also, to clean them I tried WD-40 and it works fast - don't know if it effects the slide siding.

Thetford foamy black streak spray bottle works well. You can find at Camper World or Amazon. They come back as soon as my slide is closed for awhile. I will try the 303 Protectorant.

Have always used 303 on seals, once each couple of months. I keep the slide sides waxed, makes it easy to wipe off the streaks, which we sometimes get, with 409 or Fantastic.
