gray tank leak
my gary water tank has a hair line crack about a 1 in long, has any one repaired there tank

Some have repaired leaking holding tanks and others have replaced the tank. Eternabond may have something for the job if it can be dry enough for the product to stick. There are also places that do plastic welding.
Perhaps someone will come along shortly that has personal experience repairing their tank.

the leak is 2 in from bottom so when the tank fill the pressure opens the crack more

What year and model Montana do you have, may be a warranty issue. Where are you located? Near Goshen, IN or Pendleton OR? These are locations for the Keystone repair centers. Of course a local RV delaer would be glad to replace the tank. What about an extended warranty? Do you have one? Would it cover the cost? I just had my 4 year old black tank replaced under extended warranty by a local RV dealer and it only const me $2oo for the deductible. Not sure I would attempt a repair where your leak is located. On the top of the tank maybe, but not on the side, then again maybe a plastic weld will work....Good luck and let us know what you do so others may learn.....

Ours had a similar leak and had to be replaced. In less than a year (5 months) the new tank developed a leak. It is my belief that because of the way these tanks are installed, (wedged between aluminum cross beams and hanging by the side lips of the tank, they are bound to develop leaks. Some time ago, someone on this forum suggested that all the tanks (fresh water too) be installed with straps underneath them. I also believe this was discussed with Keystone. I go back to my dealer in July and am going to insist that they strap my tanks with straps running underneath them.

I also had a leak, about 6" from the top. I emptied the tank, let it dry for a couple days and put a eterna bond square over it. no problems yet. note: when going to the local campground, about 12 miles, I fill my tank at home because the water at the campground has a high sulphur content. think rotten eggs everytime the water is used! I keep several spare squares on board at all times.
