Slide out gaskets
Anybody have any tips on replacing the slide out gaskets? 2008 2955rl, not the big “wiper” seals, the gaskets that are attached to the slide out and seals against the side wall when closed. See attached photo. Can I find them at CW?

Just measure the gasket and determine which style it is and look on Amazon. I found mine for a sob and ordered the length I needed. It came with self adhesive backing. The hard part was taking the old seal off and getting the slide cleaned up.

Agree that the hardest part is taking off the old gasket material and cleaning up the goop they leave behind. On my 2008 3400RL, that is a slide-in bulb gasket. You need to unscrew the corner pieces on the outside corners. That allows you to flex the corner and slide out the new gasket and then slide in the new one.

"This seal is located on the backside of the exterior fascia, that frames the slide room. It slides into a track on the backside."
You can also get it at trekwoodrv.

I ordered from elk because they had better shipping prices.

Thanks Dave I ordered from Elk as well. Did you need any rubber lube to get the new seal to slide in?

It's not that tight of a fit. As long as you've cleaned the gunk from the old seal out of the channel, they slide in pretty easily so you don't need any rubber lube. On three of my slide-outs I took a rag and wiped the seals down with 303 Protectant before I installed them. On the fourth slide-out, I wiped them down after I installed them and I didn't really notice too much a difference in sliding in the one that hadn't been wiped down first.

Installation done...piece of cake. I even took the extra 45 seconds per corner (unlike the factory install) to cut seal at a 45 for a better fit.

I have seen 2 different seals in that application. 1 is all black that leaves black marks on the trailer from the slides moving around in travel. The other (like mine) have a different material (gray) on half the seal that contacts the camper. They are kind of 1/2 black 1/2 gray and greatly reduce the black marks on the trailer.

That is the kind I got. Ordered it from Elk but ended up coming from Keystone. Was easy to change out, I wiped on some 303 to be sure I did not stick.
