Minor Warranty Issues
Curious if anybody has had any luck with Keystone supplying warranty parts directly to the customer??
Hear me out... I have a new unit (3 weeks old) with some minor issues.
1. Daytime roll up window shade with a broken spring preventing it from retracting.
2. Reverse light lens holding moisture
3. ‘Montana’ decal lettering not adhering to end cap properly causing separation.
These are pretty simply DIY projects, therefore not really wanting to tow the rig to and from the dealership (4 hours of driving) for simple repairs that I could complete.
Thoughts?

Everything I have heard is they ALWAYS tell you to take it to the dealer or get parts from the dealer.

Yes, I have had luck with Keystone suppling parts for warranty work directly to the dealer....I had to pick up. I've never heard of them just sending warranty parts directly to an owner and I guess I don't blame them.
I contacted the dealer, described the issue that should be warranty, provided all documentation and pictures required. The repair parts were sent to the dealer and I picked up. Worked well for us.

I had them send me a replacement for the popup receptacle in the kitchen.
BTW, #2 with the backup/brake light lens is a known recall item. Mine was full of water when I picked it up. Dealer had to get new lenses for both lights on rear.
With the shade, you may be able to go directly to the company. I think it is Irvine Shade

Keystone works warranty and parts issues thru the dealer. For warranty work they expect the dealer to do the work, as otherwise the warranty issue is considered unresolved if not not signed off by the dealer, particularly for safety or recall issue. If you have a relationship with your dealer, they may give you the part to install yourself as Keystone does not give them the hours they think they should have which is also a factor in why some dealers do not like warranty work. Few years ago when Norcold had a recall and the fix was a temperature sensor shutoff, my dealer gave me the part with an instruction sheet; Other times dealer was uncooperative and would not.

I have had the dealership supply me warranty parts where I do the minor repairs, in the past with our old Montana and Cougar before that. Obviously anything big the dealer wants to be involved in the repair process.
Because I bought our current unit at a dealership a few hours away (our local dealership lost the Montana line) I’m wondering if the local dealer can cover warranty work where they are still a Keystone authorized service center...?

I don’t think Keystone is going to send you warranty parts. How would they know you just didn’t won’t some replacement parts for future use? You will more than likely haft to go through a dealer. If you have a good relationship with your dealer they may bend the rules for you.
