Belly pan repair / replace

Our 2019 2130 had a leak in the hydraulics for the DS slide. Still in warranty, it went to the dealer and was repaired / replaced. We were adding a quart of fluid every month until the appointment.
When it was returned the belly pan was cut open and some pop rivets removed for access to the hydraulics. The pan was taped & only one rivet was replaces with self tapping bolt.
The dealer said under warranty the pan was to be taped not replaced.

The trailer will be going back again ( see photo)
I would appreciate your experience with this issue.

thanks,
-ed

I don't think that keystone will replace your whole bottom. taping it sounds about right. Most of us end up cutting into the bottom at some point and just taping it back up.

You can call keystone to push it but i don't think you'll get a replacement.

Tape is unacceptable. Regardless of what Keystone says, or not say about it, the dealer is responsible for performing satisfactory workmanship. You didn't purchase a tape job and shouldn't accept one either. I would contact Keystone (ya I know, good luck) and see what they say.

So the tape won’t hold to hydraulic fluid or atf or whatever. Personally I cut into the bottom to do a repair as taking it off was not feasible due to time. I temporarily taped the repair but when I got home I cleaned the Coroplast painted on some 3m primmer and covered the cut with the gorilla version of eternabond (it’s black and hard to see) it has been good for over a year with not so much a corner peeling. If the dealer told me they were cutting it and I agreed I would be ok with it. If they didn’t tell me then not so much. I’d at least like the option to cover labor to pull the Coroplast before it gets sliced. Chances are I would still above the slice since labor to pull the bottom is pricey. It looks like they had a blind guy use duct tape on your bottom so I’d say they could do better.

I think im going to replace it with metal.. cutting it makes it easy to get inside the area.. i did it to ours to get-to the hydraulic ram.. wiped with alcohol, gorilla tape.Good as new..

I've cut mine on past rig and taped it with never a problem. As stated above, proper prep and then really good tape. Wouldn't want something solid under there. Blowind a tire or hitting something in the road could make a thin metal bottom into a problem.
