Let's see those storage mods

OK folks. We are getting ready to full-time for a year in our '11 3400RL and are looking for creative storage ideas, both inside and basement. Shoot your pics and tell us all about it. Primarily looking for basement ideas, but anything you think is cool and useful is welcomed.
We are also going to take out the love seat and use that space "better" for our needs. Any ideas there? Thanks!

It may be deemed expensive, but here is what I added to our rig to ease the storage access:

Use Rubbermaid storage crates on the sliding tray. It may not help with the storage configuration, but it makes getting at everything in the basement a lot easier!!

I had a coat closet and turned it into a pantry. Now let me think I could either store 3 coats or all my caned goods. It wasn't a tough choice and I can turn back into a coat closet in about 1 minute. It don't have one nail or screw holding it in.

We use storage containers we got from Walmart, 7 of these in different thicknesses http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-...-Pack/44785757, 2 of these http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-Footlocker/16415912 and 4 Stanley large toolboxes (http://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DWST240...lbox+organizer). Everything sits in the doorways with the wheeled footlockers in the middle. Tables and chairs go around the footlockers, BBQ grill and one storage box go on top of the lockers. Very organized, easy to pull what you need and works for us.

On our second trip camping in our 3160 I talked to a couple with a new Big-sky. He had modified the whole door side of his front basement storage to fit all of his different items. Vertical slots for lawn chairs etc., even a spot for his little portable ice maker. He made it out of aluminum channel, light plywood and the same carpet that is already in there. Very nicely done. I actually took some pictures to use as reference for my unit. The OD side was only slightly modifies with hooks, Velcro and plastic tubs.

I am sure the after market would do good if they would come up with a flexible storage system for basement storages.

We started with those plastic storage trunks with the latches from Walmart. Underneath fits 8, four to a side. We transformed into those Sterlite plastic bins with the handles that fold up over the lid. They come in all shapes and sizes and found that with those we can store more in less space than with the larger trunks. They also work on inside locations and minimize stuff trying to fall out when traveling.

Hi

If you have space under your refrigerator this helps in the kitchen.

We removed the couch and replaced it with a Console Table. Hardly ever used the couch and never used the fold-out bed so it was taking up to much space and heavy.

This is the table we replaced the couch with. It really opened up the livingroom area a lot!

The slider used by bncinwv makes for great easy access. But it will cost you space along its sides...that room is lost except for long thin items like brooms.

I took 1x2 strips and screwed the old school black rubber bungee cords to them. I then mounted them along the top edge of the front wall of the basement to hang things like drills, levels, slip chair legs under to hold them flat against the wall etc.

On the curb side we welded up a rack that allows for three large plastic foldable milk crates to sit in.

I hate loose things on the floor of the basement so we hang as much as we can!

leemedic ... you know me ... if they don't make what you want, build one. I made the black wood box with the heavy duty slider tray. The tool box is just an ordinary 4 drawer Craftsman bolted to the drawer bottom. The box is just lagged to the floor. The heavy duty drawer guides are from Lowe's. It works well and has a lip around the top so stuff can sit there and not roll off.

In the basement, started off with tubs but the one I needed was always on the bottom. Switched to 2 Walmart 3 drawer plastic storage units, one just inside street side one on curb side pushed against front wall have not had to fasten them and they have not moved (carpet type floor). Drawer size approx 14 x 22 (guess). Vertical storage in a small footprint holds about as much as tubs but easier to access. Better organized, 1 drawer plumbing and hoses,1 drawer electric and tv cables, 1 drawer cleaning supplies contains any spills, 1 drawer small propane bottles, 1 drawer bungees, duct tape, rope cleaning rags, etc. See-through helps find things or label the drawers.
