Progressive surge
I am having installed a Progressive Hard Wired 50amp surge unit.
I need to know from you experience installers out there just where would be a good place to install this unit and how many hours did it take you to install. (At 90.00 an hour Id like to know how long it took to install so I don't get ripped off!)
Pictures would also be great!
All replies would be greatly appreciated!

I installed mine behind the main electrical panel inside. Took about 1 hour for mine. This included installing the remote display.

Location sort of depends on the setup. Since we have an on-board Genny, I mounted ours on the rear bulkhead of the battery compartment and tied it into the Auto-Transfer Switch. Took me approx 3 hours, but there were lots of breaks taken to rest the back. Hunched over working in the battery compartment can get you in the back and else wheres.

Jim Fischer (electrician) and I have installed them under the steps on 3400 belonging to others. Sorry no photos.
I would say two hours at the max. That includes pulling and removing steps wiring in and running the remote wire.
Good luck, let us know how it works out and safe travels.

Thanks guys for the replies.
John,if you we're close by, I'd gladly pay you 90.00 per hour to install, then I would know it was done right!

John is pretty much on the mark. I've installed two of them and each took 2 hours, maybe a tad longer. And has been suggested, install it behind the fuse/circuit breaker panel because not only is there room there for it, but you won't need additional wire as the incoming power cord is plenty long enough to cut and put the EMS unit in. the install is very straight forward, as long you look at the instructions. The difficult part for me was deciding where to mount the remote read out, and how to run the wire for it (it uses a two wire phone cable). If you are paying someone $90, at least make sure they are a licensed electrician for that kind of money.
