Flooring question
We have removed the carpet from our slide, and we will be building a desk and shelving and new couch to replace the couch (full length of slide). I am researching floating laminate flooring, but concerned about the joint between the slide and the metal edge of the slide, which is flush with the subfloor. Also, I would love to remove the strip of carpeting under the edge of the slide, but will that ruin the vinyl that is throughout the living room and kitchen?
This picture shows, top to bottom: edge of couch, subfloor with silver Mylar peeled Away, metal edge, 2" of dirty carpet, beige vinyl, and leg base for table.

James,
Very Nice job. When can i bring mine by for the install. Hahah
Nice work and the detail shows. Question, did you glue it
down or just let it float? Also, what did you do for the shoe mold
and did the slides clear the new flooring without having to re-adjust
the slides? Thickness of flooring?
Randy

Very nice job, and since we want to do it also, we have the same questions Randy has. Thanks!

Do I hear J & K RV Flooring in the very near future? Heck you can set up shop at the MOC rallies!

Very nice! Any thoughts about the direction of the planks, length way vs side to side? Again. Nice job

James,
Thanks for the pics. I have the same model and year and plan to do same to mine this summer. We use ours yearly to snowbird and the carpet is a pain to keep. Did you use High Pressure Laminate or Direct Pressure?
Scott,
Two schools of thought for direction of planks. If something causes the slide to scratch the floor and it is laid long ways, more planks are scratched and makes the repair a PIA. If you lay it in the short direction it can make the area look smaller. I like the look of long ways.
