Hope you guys get what you're expecting ... the photo up close appears to show only 3 prongs = 30 amp.

Without going out and looking at my plug, I'm working from memory, but you are right about 4 prongs on the male end of the cord that plugs into the power pedestal at campgrounds but I believe you are mistaken about the end that plugs into the trailer. IIRC, it has three prongs and uses a metal shield around the outside of the male plug for the ground.

Yup - just checked and my memory is still good! Look here: http://www.amazon.com/Marinco-6364CR...marinco+50+amp

So, are we getting what we hope we bought? My rig is in 800 miles away so I can't visually check it.

I re-looked at what I posted and I certainly believe it's correct. This plug is just an adapter that screws into place on the RV. The other end has the same fitting on it as the RV so that you can screw your extension cord into it... It should NOT have a 4 prong plug on it such as the pedestal end of the extension cord.. else your power cord would not fit it..

Am I wrong? Hope not.....

No, you're not wrong - unless Amazon posted the wrong picture and the wrong description! I checked it before I ordered. And thanks again for the link!

I've ordered one as well! With the right angle and the additional 18 inches, it should provide for more opportunity to easily take the pressure off of the trailer socket by one means or another. It'll probably be as simple as a rig that sits on the ground and supports the trailer end of the 25' cable when it's at connection height with the extension. There is a fair amount of downward pressure on the trailer socket which may prove to be problematic (love big words!) over time and this should eliminate it.
Thank you for the suggestion illapah and the supplier lead GreatWhite!

I just ordered one. Wasn't worried about the pressure on the trailer plug but the pull on the individual conductors inside the plug that goes into the trailer. Even though I have tinned those wires I have still had a conductor pull out of it's lug on two seperate occassions. Jim

I like the idea of this too, So I ordered 1 the other day.

It arrived today, its a very heavy duty plug.

BUT, you know the way you insert the connector into the inlet, then turn it a little to the right and then put the screw collar on tight.

Well, this new one goes into the inlet pointing to the left at a good 10 o'clock, and when you turn it, it points at a good 11 o'clock, or more.

IT DOES NOT POINT TO THE GROUND!!!!

The silver part(GROUND) of this new one is at 8 o'clock instead of 12 o'clock like all the other ones I have.

Looks like I will be returning mine.

Anyone else have this issue????

I just called Camco (1-800-334-2044) and talked to an engineer who said the silver part(GROUND) should be at the top(12o'oclock) not at 8:00.

So he took my name & address and is going to check another one and send it to me.

Hopefully it will be right.

I wonder if this is for a boat, not a camper......

Sent pictures of the adapter and the Marinco inlet to Camco. They say the adapter is correct, the Marinco Inlet has a door on it that open bottom to top.

They say that its installed wrong, it needs to be turned so the door opens from right to left so the adapter will work correctly.

Anyone else's inlet door open bottom to top? or is mine wrong??

I'm not sure what it would matter which way the door opens as far as useability or function is concerned.

My 2012 3700 plug opens bottom to top and is installed so the label and directions (Turn right to lock) are easily readable.

After looking at other pictures of the inlet, I guess the more important question is:

Where is your ground clip located inside the inlet. ??

Mine is located on top, a picture of the inlet on Amazon shows the ground clip on the bottom, another picture shows it on the left side.

So, has anyone ever pulled the inlet apart? Can you change the location of the plug so the ground clip would be on the left side?

Tom ... check out the 5th post in this topic ... apparently you can rotate your plug to accommodate the correct clocking assuming the ground tab is going to be correct.
