RDS Auxillary Fuel Tank

I know some of you are using auxillary fuel tanks but I wanted to throw in my take. I ordered the RDS 72743PC http://www.rdsaluminum.com/auto-auxiliary.html . I installed it in under 2 hours using the installation kit. I chose the black one because it blends in with the bedliner. It also sits below the bedrails and isn't very noticable from a few feet away. It looks like a truck box and not a fuel tank so I hope that is a little deterrent for any would be fuel thieves. I used it towing for the first time this weekend and I am overwhelmed with happiness. I didn't need to search for a fuel station that I could fit into. As a matter of fact, I didn't need fuel for the entire weekend. I can't believe I've been towing all these years and just now invested in one.

I have the wedge RDS tank and have been extremely happy with the purchase. Extends our refueling range to about 1000 miles when towing.

We know exactly how you feel and are extremely happy we went that direction several years ago. It is mandatory equipment for us now.

After driving to Florida and back with a friend who had one...well...we have the tank on order...the RDS combo fuel toolbox...should allow me about 800 or so miles between fuel stops....looking so forward to that....it will also be good when we head to Alaska in the future....

I'm very happy with my DeeZee 40 gallon diamond plate aux tank. Sure makes a BIG difference as my truck only came with a 26 gallon tank!

I don't miss that 26 gallon tank I had a few trucks ago. I was filling up every 150 miles or so depending on conditions. Now I think I can go around 800 between fuel stops while towing.

I'm just wondering how many connect their auxiliary tank directly to the factory fill hose VS using a 12 volt pump with a hose and nozzle?

I use the gravity flow. They have a kit that goes in the main fuel filler hose, and the aux tanks just keeps filling the main tank until the aux tank is empty.

RDS tanks are made in America, very good tanks. I got my 60 Gal combo box in 2011, very happy with it.

Don't let the dealership see that tank if you hook it to the fuel system,if you have issues with your 12k dollar fuel system you are SOL on warranty.
