swap to continous hot water
Has anyone in montana converted your hot water heater over to the atwood on demand water heater or getting ready to use the new Truma AquaGo? I can see the benefit to on demand and also understand that there were a bunch of complaints of inconsistent performance with the Atwood model. John

A friend of mine has a motorhome with the Girard tankless water heater. I'm not really crazy about it. If you accidentally turn the water on just a little bit warm, it kicks on and runs for awhile after you turn the water off. I also had a terrible time trying to regulate the temperature in the shower. It was either hot or cold. Just couldn't get it adjusted. I'll stay with my 12 gallon electric/lp heater, thank you very much. I've yet to run out of hot water while showering.

That's great info I was wondering the same thing. Right now I have a suburban 10 gallon water and my last SOB had a 10 gallon Atwood. I find the Atwood was a little better at heating water and not using as much propane. Has anyone else found the same thing or are you happy with the suburban?

I'm very happy with the Suburban and never had a hot water issue, even when the incoming water temperature was near or below freezing.

We never ran out of hot water with our 10 gallon Suburban. Most of the time we ran it on electric. The demand system uses a lot of propane, check out the heater, it's big, seems like 65,000 BTU

If your goal is to increase quantity of Hot Water look at The
Atwood GE16-EXT Gas and Electric XT 10 Gallon DSI Water Heater 94026 Camper Trailer RV
Atwood XT - The Intelligent Way to Deliver More Hot Water
Ever wish you could have more hot water but didn’t want a bigger, bulkier, heavier water heater? Provides the equivalent of 16 gallons of hot water in a 10 gallon size by heating cold water to a hotter temperature and then mixing it with more cold water through an already installed mixing valve on the rear.
The result is 50% more hot water! Easily installed in the same cut-out dimension of an existing Atwood 10 gallon water heater. Features pre-installed winterizing by-pass kit.
We have this unit in our SOB Park Model

Spending more and more time in our Mountaineer - the 10 gal Suburban supplies us well on electric - hit the propane to supplement during showers - never run out of hot under normal use.

We never run out of hot water with our 12 gal Suburban. Suburban does make a 16 gal if you have the room for it.

We have yet to run out of hot water with our 12gal Suburban either. We also have never had to use the LP side of it, always run it on electric. Come to think of it I don't think we've ever even fired it up on gas.......Tim
