Ram tie rod recall update?

Does anyone have an update on the Ram tie rod recall? I have a 2012 and am still waiting for the dealer to receive the parts (last I checked it will be September). We are leaving on a long trip in late August and would like to have it replaced before then. Any advice?

I am third on the list now at my dealership. Parts are coming. When I asked how long, dealer stated depends on how fast the two in front of me get in. In essence, they must be completed before my parts will arrive. Hope they are ready for theirs as I am.
But I have been towing with mine and have not seen any troubles.

We spent the winter in AZ towing and off roading. Came home to KS and still had no problems. Dealer got the parts and replaced ours last week. Since most to the trucks around here are used in farming and ranching I asked if they had seen a bad one. They said no.

Same here, got mine done right after Christmas with no problems or delays. The parts are available, I think some dealers are only doing so many a month because of their books or something. I think I would call around to some other Dodge dealers... But I too asked if there was a problem driving on the old ones and the Svc Mgr told me that he has not heard of any problems. I think they were trying to fix the death wobble a lot of these trucks have that Dodge refuses to fess up too.....lol lol

CountryGuy reports that our dealer is getting MAYBE one part per week. That is all that Dodge is sending out.

The Dodge forum he reads reports the same thing. Each dealer MAY get one a week.

That's what i was told and seemed to be the case at both Dodge dealers I worked with.

I've been on the list dating back to late Feb.and asked dealer two weeks ago while in for an oil change - my name is expected to come up in late November or early December. I decided I am trading the truck next week so it wont matter anyway. Frustrating nonetheless that it is taking so long to solve the issue.

My Dealer had a list. I was #80. He was not calling anyone. Has 10 in stock. I got mine done last week. I went in and asked. I was still #80 on the list. I would never have been called.

IF the bottoms of both tie rod ends are parallel to each other you have no issue. The breakage problem occurs when the left TRE is twisted during a alignment in which the tech does not understand the RAM alignment procedures.

Just look under your truck. If both TRE's are in the same plane, just drive it and don't worry.
