Safety for Traveler Dish

We have been using our newly installed roof mounted dish for a couple of weeks and it works great. There have been tons of storms in the central Illinois area recently so I have been making sure the dish is in the "stow" position when we get storms/winds. Question is, for those of you that have had these for awhile, do you really have to stow them during storms or can they take winds up to 40-50mph?

I put mine down if the winds are above 25-30 mph. I don't know what the antenna's max is, but if its real gutsty I don't want the stress on the mounting hardware.

Last year on the Oregon Coast we had some really heavy winds that kept the Montana rocking. I was so worried about the slide covers flapping that I didn't think about the Trav'ler Dish. We never lost reception, but when we were leaving to head home and I tried to stow the dish - it came up with an error code. After a brief panic, I pressed the power button again and it stowed just fine and we have never had the issue again. I did wonder if perhaps the wind somehow affected the positioning that made it error when powering off????

In accordance with the manufacturer recommendations (Winegard) "If the user is willing to be in the coach, the winds are not high enough to require stowing the unit. It will find the signal in a 50 mph wind assuming the structure it is mounted on is not moving."
