Electrical Help!!!

I have a 2017 Montana 3560RL. I'm plugged into my house. Here's my problem: The outside electrical outlet of my trailer, where the refrigerator plugs into is not working. The fridge works on propane and also if I plug the fridge directly into an extension cord going to my house. The microwave clock is on, the interior lights work, the bathroom GFI was not tripped and I reset it anyways. None of the fuses or circuit breakers are tripped or blown, but I did notice that the central vacuum does not come on. I've practically torn this rig apart looking for another GFI that has tripped or anything else. What could be my problem? Leaving tomorrow on a two week trip.

I think I solved the problem...........a poor connection with the shore power, where it connects to the trailer.

Well the problem continues........looks like one of the plug connections on the main power cord is burnt.....I'm gonna replace the entire cable and the male connection on the RV before we hit the road. I have the refrigerator running off of propane till I get this mess fixed. All the part places are now closed.

There have been a number of similar post of burned pins due to loose or poor connection on the male trailer connector.

Ugh - I knew there was something that had been missing from my To-Do list. Thanks BB

I had the same problem. They cut the wires to short and it fried my transfer switch.... Luckily it was still under warranty. I've had this Monty for 16 months and it been out 24 times. Roughly 4000 miles purposely to ring out these bugs.

Well $440.00 later and about 20 minutes worth of work all is well. If anybody has never replaced the 50 amp trailer receptacle, it is super easy to do. 4 screws and the factory units comes out, and then there are 3 wires and a ground, all of which are color coded and marked on the receptacle. The majority of my cost was a new 25' main harness and a 90 degree adapter. The joys of camping.

Sure helps to be a DIYer also. Add in service dept shop labor or mobile repair service call and you would have been out even more bucks.

Glad you made the repair so quickly. Was there a torque specification for the terminal screws on the plug? Most residential outlets in that voltage/amperage size (ie electric range) I've seen have a torque spec in the 25-30 in/lb range and 50 amp breakers have a spec in the 35-40 in/lb range. Might be some insurance you don't have a bad connection in the future.

I bought one of those 90 degree adapters when we bought our rig at the advice of a You Tube RV site. It puts less strain on the receptacle as the 50 amp cord is so heavy. They really should make the cords with a 90 degree plug when they are that big and heavy.

I'm glad you got it figured out but it makes no sense to me. Why would just the receptacle for the refrigerator not be working.

Probably because the fridge and the vacuum were the only things plugged in to that leg that he found not working.

In the front bay on my Montana there is a fuse block on the toy. I had to replace a fuse in it.

I had a simular problem that ended up being rodent damage to the showpower wires within the back wall of my trailer. The fridge had a fried circuit board and the microwave died.
