Queen Bed Frame Sagging

Our bed is attached to the slide. The bed raises and where that hinge is, the cheap plywood bows down.

Has anyone else dealt with this? I am split between tearing it out and rebuilding over the slide mechanism or reinforcing it under the plywood.

Recommendations?

rebuild it if it is sagging. we've never had that problem but we had to have our bed area rebuilt for addition strength.

Our unit has a 2x4 screwed to the plywood at the hinge. Sounds like that might have been forgotten on yours.

The 2x4 is half off, pulled away on one side.

On our 2010 the bed pulled away from the slide wall and when I looked at it the whole bed needed to be rebuilt. I took it mostly apart and made every part of it stronger as well as adding an extra set of rollers. It really wasn't that hard and only took a couple of hours.

That was kind of what I was considering. Get rid of the smaller wood for more sturdy stuff. Thank you!

RV Bed

I just finished the same rebuild on the bed. We have a king and it did not support all of the bed. So I put a new top that covered more area and added some supports on one side where it hangs over a bit. Much sturdier.

When ours did that, I removed the hinge screws and put a one by one inch piece of wood. I then put the next size up screws in the hinge holes. I also used 4, 1/4"×20×1.25" bolts, washers, and self locking nuts to secure 1x1 to plywood. Two at ends and two evenly spaced towards the center close to hinges. I also put a light coat of wood glue, between 1x and plywood. Depending on the room you have, I also did the same on the hinged side of plywood. Just a suggestion, it worked for us. Good Luck and Happy Trails

Maybe reattach it to the plywood and add a block under each end of the 2x4 screwed to the side frame. It can't go to the floor or it will not slide.
