SoCal to Oregon

We made our first trip out of state with our Montana/ 2020 Ram 3500. It was a great trip. No issues except for two things. I had my Step Above steps deployed while I was Auto-leveling. Heard a big pop. Well, did not realize what that was until I got home. Steps got caught in ground and popped mounting screws out of floor. Do not try this at home. Da. When driving through Bishop on the way home, ran over a screw with the trailer tire. We caught this in town and were able to pull over in time to keep from any damage. I called Good Sam Roadside assistance and after an hour we called back and they stated they could not find anyone to assist us. I decided to change the trailer tire myself. It took a while, but I was able to get the job done. I am glad that I am always trying to prepare for the worst. Because the worst will happen. Very disappointed with Good Sam. I still need to speak with their customer care. I enjoy reading other folks experiences. It is good to learn from others. I hope this may help someone out there.

As just a note; I live in a rural area and spend quite a bit of time traveling in that environment. I have Good Sam, Geico and at least 2 other roadside assistance plans. If you are in the "wrong" area it doesn't matter who provides the roadside assistance, it depends 100% on whoever provides those services...sometimes maybe only one business in 100 miles and if they want to mess with that "roadside repair...out there".

Sourdough, that is great insight and is now my lesson learned. I always travel with the tools needed and now we are adding the trailer to the wife’s AAA Roadside. We will now have AAA, Geico, and Good Sam. I now realize that even with all these services I may still need to break out the tools.
I forgot to tell the best part of what happened. While driving with the flat tire a woman driver in a truck pulled next to us and asked if we were ok. I answered yes. After parking in a lot the same truck pulled up and this time it was the husband. He asked if I needed any help. I told him Good Sam was sending someone. He said he was a Montana owner and was parked nearby. I wish I had asked if he was a MOG member. If you are a member, I want to thank you and your wife again for stopping and asking if we needed help. This act of kindness solidified my thought that us owners are good people.
