Slide outs

This is not for Montana's only but what are all the names for slide-outs? Someone was asking me who my slide-out's were made by, if there were hydraulic or rack and pinion. didn't know there were so many different slide-outs out there. Does any know the different kinds or Models that are out there?

On our unit, the kitchen and dining room slides are hydraulic. All the other slides are electric. I believe they are Schwintek. If memory serves, you can tell by the upper and lower gear mechanism on each side of the slide. It's a rail that looks like a worm gear pattern. Other brands also use a cable operated system which you can tell by visibly seeing the cable where the Schwintek slides have a rail. If this is not correct, hopefully someone will correct me.

Cable slides are made by BAL. like was said above you see 4 of the cables outside the unit when the slide is out. Hydraulic slides are usually made by Lippert or at least the pump and other components are.

Forgot to mention, on the hydraulic slides, you can see to rails underneath that drive them in and out. The have a gear and tooth type of mechanism.
