Front cap hitch mirror turning dark?

Our 2018 HC 305 RL front cap hitch mirror is turning dark / black? It started out as little dark streaks in the reflective surface and now the mirror surface is almost gone and turning into dark streaks? 5'er is less than a year old. I only use mild soap and water to clean and the rest of the trailers finish looks perfect. Dealer claims he has never seen this before ? Given how careful / anal I am about using harsh chemicals, I doubt it is anything I did. Anyone else having issues with the front Cap hitch mirror surface turning dark?

When we purchased our brand new FW from the dealer last fall, the mirror looked identical to yours. I brought to their attention and they replaced it when we picked it up. I didn’t ask them why or what caused it, but should have. Hope our replacement lasts longer than yours did.

I have seen that problem before it got water between the backing and clear front. All you can do is replace it if you want to use it. I never use mine anyways!

yep, have the same problem. was able to use it, when i could. we are going to cover it and put our last name on it.

Mine looks just like that. I don't use it however.

If you are in warranty Keystone will replace it.
You need to go through your dealer.

Mine is the same thing started with black streaks, though I did it with a cleaner when I washed the trailer but I guess not

Ours was just replaced under warranty while unit in for other things. Would not have made a trip just for this as I don't use the mirror. I shave in the bathroom.

I thought they put the outside shower on the rig so you could shave there

I have never used mine is 12 years of towing and hooking up! I painted a 1 inch wide white strip on the king pin and my hitch. Align those to strips and you can hook up very easily!

Now that you mention it there is a mirror that. tehy mention a patent for that. I wonder if the patent mentions that once it is noticed it becomes streaked.

I would rather have the LED lights extend there or nothing. That mirror serves no purpose.

I've never used it in 10 years. A waste of time, in my opinion.

Just had the dealer order a new one, ours came prescratched & looks ugly. I dont use it either but still want it to look good. It is only plastic & might replace it with a real mirror or something decorative, Ill leave that up to my wife.

That piece would make for a nice plaque with your last name and state on it, or MOC #, or just a cool little mural or saying on it.

Here is the pic of our new FW when it was delivered to the dealer. Lol, didn’t even survive the journey.

We have 2018 3931FB with same issues. We have had our unit a few months and only washed once but it was this way when we took delivery.

Given response from Keystone on our survey answers I doubt they will replace but we plan to give them the opportunity.

The manufacturer rep told me there is a recall on the mirrors and should be replaced under that.
