Getting a feel for selling/trading my Montana

What say you? I'm going to sell and get a new one. Sell now, sell in the spring, or trade now, saving the sales tax on the difference? It's a 2013 RL.

For me the rig would make the difference. We wouldn't trade unless there was a compelling reason caused by a particular floor plan. Then you have to consider, will it be discontinued, what changes will be made in the new year etc. What type of deal you make will depend on how the dealer got the rig and how bad they want to get rid of it. Our first Montana was a left over that Keystone gave the dealer a real deal on. Our new one, we bought in June (should have been a bad time for a deal) and the dealer had too many rigs on the lot and more new ones on the way.

We have found if you are not factory ordering and the dealer has lots of similar priced new inventory they are more eager to deal.
We also watch their used inventory and if they get loaded up with a lot of used of similar value the price brakes come on.

Trading up here in the north in the fall up here can be a problem as most dealers don't want a lot of used inventory to carry thru the winter.

Spring is usually the best time to sell here in Michigan, but not necessarily the best time to buy. We ordered ours at a winter show and got what we believe was a fantastic, too good to pass up, deal. We told the salesman we would try to sell ours while waiting for the new Montana to come in and if we didn't sell, we would trade it. they wanted our old one immediately and I flatly refused. As it turned out, we sold the old unit for asking price within 3 days for over $5,000.00 more than the offered trade price.

If you are a good negotiator any time is the right time. When we traded in out 06 3400 we knew what trade in value was and we knew what the price of the 13 3402 was.It just take a lot of homework.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the OP'S question was directly about "Selling or trading, advantages and what time of year to sell or trade his trailer??
Maybe I'm wrong, wouldn't be the first time.
