Mor Ryde

Any Montana 5th wheelers, have any of you added a Mor Ryde Pin Box and experianced a noticable improvement, especially the clunking/chunking problem?

We have the Mor/Ryde pin box on ours and it helps a lot. I agree with Tom, any after market pin box will help.

A day and night difference, but you have to make sure you get the right size rubber, or 'spring' they call it I believe. It is sized for the weight of your or trailer.

We have had 5th wheels with the Mor/Ryde, and Trailair. The Mor/Ryde works great on side to side and front to rear movement, but doesn't help with cushing the up and down. The Trailair only helps in the up and down movemnent, however Trailair does have a add on to the Trailair that works similar to Mor/Ryde pin box plus cushing the up and down.

I have also had 2 Trailer Saver air ride 5th wheel hitches. I'm now using the Trailer Saver TSB2H (32,000 lb capacity) and I'm using the standard pin box. I have no chucking and the ride for the 5th wheel is like riding on a cloud. Yes the Trailer Saver is expensive, but so is you 5th wheel. The TS takes a lot of stress off you 5er's frame, and things inside ride so much better. I recomend you take a look at the Trailer Saver web site and look at their system also. Keep in mind if you upgrade you want have to worry about the Pin box. The Trailer Saver TS 3 can be moved to other Trucks. The TS 3 we had was in 4 different Trucks. It fits most standard bed rails, Reese, and Valley/Huskey . Yes they do have a slider for the short bed Trucks. Good Luck with your choice. The Mor/Ryde does a very good job. As other have said make sure you get the right Pin box for you 5th. GBY...

i just called trailair for air ride pin box and was told that i will need the tra.pin wgh.for correct sizing. you are correct they have one that takes care of the back and forward motion.
i have an 07 md.3295 with a lippert pin box md. 1116 and was told that the trailair would be md. M19-3G. 3G indicates md. that moves back and forward.
i think my hitch pin wgh. is over 3400 lbs. judgeing how much the truck sits down. the truck is a f-350 drw. lb. 4 dr.
the M-19 is 850.00
the M-19-3G is 1100.00
would you spend the extra $ the M19-3G?
open for suggestion

I have the MorRyde pin box AND a Trailersaver air ride hitch. I feel (my opinion), I have the best combination possible. I have alleviated about 80-90% of chucking. No combination will completely alleviate it but you can get rid of most of it...The hitch is an expensive option but one we elected as we are fulltimers and plan on keeping our Montana for many years, or until we die, whichever comes first.......

There should be a tag somewhere on the pin box that tells you what model you have

MOC Fanatic is right on. We switched over to the Mor/Ryde this Spring, and used the Lippert number on the original to match up pin boxes correctly! And you'll see a big, big difference!!! D

My 2011 3400rl came equiped with the Mor/ryde hitch and I too spent alittle extra (ok alot extra) for the TS3. This combination is unbeatable and glad I spent the money up front.

Happy Trails

Here's what the Lippert pin box numbers and measurements are ... Click on the 9th one down (measurement Guidelines)and open it. It shows all the different pinboxes and their measurements. Lippert is about 6 models down. Determine what model you have from the measurements.

We ordered our 2009 Big Sky with a MorRyde pinbox. After pulling it around Oklahoma City for a couple of days, we had the dealer replace it with our Glide-Ride from our 2006 3400. We like the Glide-Ride and feel it is superior to the MorRyde.

I have been very pleased with the fifth airborne pin box. Big difference over stock pin box. Having not had any other pin boxes for comparison purposes, cannot comment on other brands. But I have yet to talk to an unhappy fifth airborne owner. California's freeways are horrible, and the difference in ride was noticeably improved!
