Cracked aluminum wheels

I recently discovered one of our wheels has two of the spokes appear to be cracked all the way through. I would think this is a serious safety issue. We feel very fortunate to discover this problem while parked, not by having the wheel fail at highway speed. I would appreciate input from any others that has had this problem.

Where is the crack at? Towards the hub, rim, or in the middle of the spokes? We have the same year 3400RL and are very interested in your findings. Pictures are always great. How did you notice the cracks? I also would think it was a serious safety issue and wouldn't travel without getting them replaced.

We found one spoke cracked while putting on new tires. The tire man noticed it while mounting the new tire. It was replaced at no cost after sending pictures. I don't know how to put pictures on this sight. The crack was really noticeable on the back side of the wheel so even while washing the rig I don't think I would have caught it. It was in the middle of one spoke.

I have photos, but do not know how to size them and add them to a post. The crack were on adjacent spokes about a 1/3 of the way above the hub. We are presently parked for the summer, so we have time to work this out. I have NO intention of even moving the trailer until the wheel is replaced. Help in posting the photos would be greatly appreciated.

In 2007, as we pulled into a campground near Grants Pass, Oregon, we discovered one of Monty's tires was going flat. When we took it in to be repaired we were told the tire was fine but the aluminum rim was cracked.

The local Keystone dealer took pictures of the rim and sent them to Keystone. A few weeks later a new rim showed up at our doorstep. Another few weeks passed and another rim arrived. So now we have 2 new rims on one side and two old 2005 rims on the other side.

Hope we don't have anymore cracked rims!!

Are these cracks easily visible from the outside without removing the tire/rim? Or does it require removal and close inspection? Thanks.

My cracks were easily visible from the outside. What concerns me are the ones that may not be visible.

The crack in our rim is visible BUT... only if you know where to look. I doubt we would have seen it. Once a Magic Marker circled the crack we saw it.

I'm not confident that we will see new cracks!
