Is it legal to take it off...?

Is it legal to take off the "Exit Only" stickers in the windows?
I'm not really sure why I want to... I just do.

I can't see that it would be a problem because mine have curled up and fallen off, so if your not sure if you want to remove them they will just fall off any way. Roman

I'd have to think it wouldn't matter unless you wanted to sell...then I would consider replacing them with new...and then at least they would look new.

Next thing we know you will be wanting to rip off that "do not remove this tag under penalty of law") tag on your mattress.

Have at it. I hate stickers. I did all the ones on our previous 5er but haven't got around to it yet on the Monty. However don't take the stickers off the cabinet above the stove, beside the Microwave. You will pull the paper off the cabinet. Of course if you have something to put over the spot then it is okay. I'm going to put a magnetic marker board there so I can cover up the stickers. I take the tags off pillows, mattresses, etc. They are there for the protection of us, the buyers. The "Do Not Remove" if for the vendor.
Happy trails..................

Rich - are you advocating breaking the law???? One must NEVER remove the tag from the mattress!Yeah, right!

We're in the middle of taking our stickers off the windows, as they become brittle.

Thanks for the question Blue, I've been intending to ask it myself but CRS keeps getting in the way. I'm with Sue, I hate stickers, and I want them off! I don't even like the 3"X6" dealer sticker on the outside.

Has anyone tried to remove the sticker in the front... the one advertising 30% more turning.
Since its 30 degrees outside and snowing... I'm sure I wont be doing it today.

MOC ADMINISTRATION does not support breaking the law. No matter how insignificant the law may seem. We do not know whether or not this particular item is required or not but suspect that it is a safety requirement. As such you might want to reconsider removing such items. Please remember that the information posted by members of the MOC are their opinions only and do not represent the MOC as a whole.

Thank you,
RVWheels, MOC Admin.

You do have a point about "Safety Equipment" If I have a visitor in my coach and the front door is blocked by fire and they dont see the "EMERGENCY EXIT" signs in the window, then I could be liable.
That may be extreme, but it could happen..

~(re-thinking the idea)~

So, for those of us whose units are old enough that they dried up and fell off

IS there a source for new decals???

I would think a good place to start would be the dealer where you got your rig.
I also think it would be good to look into the legality of it as well.
I'm sure none of us wants to be liable over something like that.

Bluegill, I took-off my little round stickers on the front when it was warmer. I used a hairdryer and they came off real easy.

I think I will call someone else's dealer. I sorta doubt my dealer would know.... And I mean that politely.

Thanks Don, I'll give it a whirl next dry spell we have here...MAY ?

I think that if you dug through OSHA rules you would find the safety exit stickers are a requirement. If they look funky I would replace them..

If it were on a public transportation vehicle absolutely not! But as a privately owned vehicle it is kinda like tearing the matress tag off, not supposed to do it but there is no one going to arrest you. But if there is ever a case where someone got hurt because they could not get out, a fast lawyer could make a case of it. Personally I have taken several of mine off. I have left it on the two side windows.
