Hitch Heighth

A friend of mine just bought a new 2008 Chevy Duramax/Allison Dually one ton.
His bed is about 1 1/2 inch deeper than mine (2007 Classic Dually).
Question is, does he lower the hitch on the Monty, drop it down one set of holes, or does he raise the hitch in the bed of the truck, raise it one set of holes? I'm sooo confused!!!
Thanks for the input I am concerned about center of gravity, and putting more pressure on the rear set of wheels on his Monty. My 3400 sets perfectly level on my one ton.

Have him hook it up first to see what he actually has then adjust accordingly. It will be pretty obvious which way to move either one then.

Rick i understood the question to be which one do you move first. If i'm in this same mess going from the ford to the chevy I'm going to move the truck hitch first then if I need more and the truck is maxed then I'll change the Monty. I hope this is what you were asking for. I'll bet I do have some adjusting to do when I finally get the chevy here. thanks for the PM.

I moved my hitch from GMC 04 to 08, the clearance on the box changed from 7 3/4 to 6 1/4.It sets level and looks good.

I changed the height at the hitch: raised it up one set of holes. We are now level, again, Went from a 3500 SRW to a 3500 DRW.
