Another Progressive Dynamics transfer switch failure

Yesterday I lost power in my one month old Montana 3121RL. There was power at the post going to the RV. After reading multiple posts on this subject I was able to trace the problem to the transfer switch. When I called my dealer he reported that there are a lot of failures with that particular switch and many suppliers no longer carry them. He suggested getting a much more robust switch. I will have to pay the price difference between the two though.

The ATS should be replaced under warranty by Montana. As they don't use them anymore, the replacement is a from a different vendor. There is a post recently from aa member who had this done. Do a Search on "Progressive ATS" and it should pop up.

On Edit: here is the post I was referring to:

Thank you. I reviewed the information from previous posts. I called the service manager at the dealership. He had already ordered the Southwire Surge Guard 40350 RVC as an upgrade to the one from Progressive Dynamics. He said that this would be a much better and more durable transfer switch.

When ours failed, it was the week before a trip and I contacted PD and Keystone and was sent a basic transfer switch as I requested as I was installing a Progressive Industries HW50C when I switched the transfer switch.

It is, Curious if it comes with the remote digital (optional) display. I received installed in my rig a Southwire 4126(1) which is a good unit like yours, isn't on southwires webpage yet. It has a remote FAULT light in the rv's cabinet. I wish they installed your unit..... but atleast we didn't get the PD faulty transfer switch.
