Storage doors.

When we picked up our 3670 at the dealer, one of the things that needed to be fixed was the metal "holders" on the outside that hold up the storage doors. They were rusting. Now they are plastic and they do not hold up the door all the time. Has anybody installed anything to hold them up like hydraulic "shafts" that other manufactures and buses have?

I got tired of those darn OE latches slipping and getting knocked in the head. I replaced mine with the "T" type latches like the one used to hold the entrance door open. No more doors coming down unexpectedly.

We bought a hydraulic "shaft" to install on the front storage door of our 3295, but found that the door is too flimsy and the brackets wanted to twist. We thought we had the answer to end "bonked heads" but alas, it didn't work.

I agree with Glenn, the T-latches are a simpler & more effective way to tame those doors. The other alternative would be to replace them with the side opening type found on the newer models, both curb & driver's side.

Good idea Glenn - may end up doing mine!

Thanks Jim, I did mine because I didn't want to damage the door with my block head.

Glenn, could you please post a picture of your fix. We need to fix the door by the bedroom slide. It is slightly bent because I opened the slide with it up, and the original latch doesn't hold real well. Please show closed and opened. Thank You
Happy trails....................

Jim, thanks for the "heads-up" on the twisting. Glenn, that is a good idea for my problem. Would be easy and cheap. The idea of replacing the doors so that they open out to the left and right would be nice, but my luck it would not fit right. Thanks, Richard
