GM Silverado HD......
Stopped at a GM dealership and got to see the 2007.5 2500HD with the Duramas/Allison and the Duramax makes less noise than the Ford or Dodge engine. The interior is awesome, it had the LTZ option. GM hit a home run with this interior, everything was great. I think it makes less noise than our 2006 Kodiak. I know for a fact our Kodiak makes less noise than the 08 F-450. I have had them side by side. I really wish GM would get the 3500HD's out and see what changes they made. All the above is just my opinion. GBY....

I have seen the 3500HD srw and I was really impressed with it. Everything is probably the same as the 2500HD of course except the payload! I drooled over this particular one since it was white, and had all the bells and whistles, nice truck!!!

I went by the dealer yesterday and looked at them for the first time and got a brochure...the HD brochures were hidden in the sales manager's office. They look good, the weights (GVWR) are all the same, towing capacity appears to be changed a very little bit, advertised cargo capacity is still outrageous (using the gas engines as a base, thus inferring it is higher than it really is), dimensions are almost the same...they did lengthen the dually by 2 1/2", the Dmax has been tweaked from 360/650 hp/torque to 365/660, many have heard about the problems with GM's oem hitches...these trucks have a new 2 1/2" receiver (with adaptor for 2"), on board brake controller, and a totally new interior.
They look good, inside and out, but they aren't Hondas, therefore, I'd hesitate to get a first year edition. In fact, that's one reason I opted for the "Classic."

Well I still don't uderstand what GM is doing. No change in GVWR is really a surprise, I would have bet money that they would have change the weights. We have had the 2 1/2" receiver with the adaptor for the 2" since going with the Chevy Kodiak 4500. As for horse power that wasn't a big deal for me, I thank the horse power has been great. No need for chips or any type HP gadget in the Duramax its just a awesome diesel engine... Life is good. GBY.
Went to my Dr. yesterday for a check up. Got results back from my PSA, great news the PSA level was 0.00 %. My Cancer cells were not there. I'm good for another year. I am so BLESSED...
If your 50 years, old get your PSA check. It can save your life.....

Lindy,
I am happy to hear the good news from your doctor!!
Keep your eye on the GVWR on the new HD's, rumor is running that there is going to be a drastic increase in payload on both the SRW and the DRW. Again, just rumor at the moment...

It's going to """hover""" Color will be translucent and change daily,,,, It will run on hydrogen and produce water for the fresh water tank.. I think my wife is shaking me, trying to wake me up... darn this dream is great.

Lindy: Congrats on the PSA. I had cancer 3 years ago. Now mine is 0.0 also.
I agree, any male over 40 should have a PSA run at least annually.

Grumpy, Great for you those ZER0's are great numbers when your a Cancer survivor. It's been 5 years since my surgery however mine came back a year after my surgery. I had to undergo Radiation for 39 days. But the PSA has been unreadable for the last 4 years. Thanks again. GBY....

My surgery was only 3 years ago. They caught it early by doing an annual PSA. I had the biopsy's run as soon as it was 4.2 so I am very fortunate.

Yeah, I'm a member of the club also. I had IMRT (radiation therapy) a year ago. I'm still on the fence, since my PSA went down to 0.11 and has flattened out there. If it stays flat, I'm OK -- if it slowly starts back up, well let's not think about that!

So your dealers actually have the 3500 with the diesel in the new body? In the city we're in they don't have them yet with the diesel, just gas. I've been wanting to try one out. I drove the Classic but they didn't have the new one yet. This was a week ago. I'll try again in a couple of weeks. I drove the Dodge and Ford already but want to drive all three again before making my decision.
