Power to vent

I want to install a Maxxfan in our entertainment room which just has a vent. Is that vent pre-wired for a power fan?

I looked at one of my vents and the one in my bedroom, near the shower was not. However, there is a light nearby, so I am hoping there is a hot lead that is not switched nearby too. I am afraid it's switched though.

I doubt if it is prewired for anything. Perhaps you can snake a wire over to a light as mentioned, but more than likely it will be switched. I assume you'll get a power vent with remote as a wall switch will be extremely difficult unless you use a wire loom down the wall somehow.
PS ... awesome RV.

I want to install a fan for the bedroom vent and figure I will have to snake a wire from the bathroom vent fan. There is light nearby but it is switched and therefore not work the way I want.

Now this is something I don't understand, we have a 2012 model 3402RL and the vent in the bathroom as well as the one in the shower area both have fans albeit they are the cheap variety. We ordered two thermostatically controlled MaxAir's one in the kitchen area and the other in the bedroom.

To the OP our AC is in the living area so we do not have a vent between the kitchen and the rear of the RV. It would be anyone's guess if yours was wired for a fan and I would be absolutely certain Keystone cannot tell you either, every one seems to be done differently depending who is working on wiring that particular day.

You should be able to remove the vent cover on the inside and perhaps see if there are any terminated wires in the area.

For those of you commenting about the power being switched so it will not work theway you want...the other side of the switch is 12vdc unswitched. John

That doesn't do them any good if they are picking up the power from the light itself. The power at the light is only live when the switch is thrown. The switch doesn't complete the ground, it completes the power.

I have the el-cheapo toilet closet fan that obviously has a hot wire to it. I'm hoping I can get a wire from it, out to the vent in the bedroom by my shower. It's only a couple feet away, so it should be pretty easy to get a hot lead over there.
