Washer dryer venting
I have a 2011 HC 323RL, I am looking at adding a Splendide w/d combo unit, can anyone tell me where their dryer vents out, straight out the bottom, out the side??? our unit will go in the closet in the front of our bedroom.

Don't have the same unit, but have ours in a closet in the front of the bedroom and it vents out the side.

Ours also vents out to the side, but we have the side by side models.

Ours vents out the side. It also is in the closet in the front. 2014 3625re, but I think if they are in the front closet they go out the side.

The combo unit you are talking about does not use a vent it vents through the out water hose. We have the same unit and no vent is needed all though I like the idea of a vent. If you haven't used yours yet you will find that the clothes coming from the dryer will still feel wet when you pull them out they talk about this in the owners manual it took a bit to get used to but now it's no big deal. Hope this helps a little happy camping.

Actually Splendide makes both kinds of units. Ours is the combo, but requires a vent and as stated vents to the side. Splendiide also makes a unit as stated by Tim that doesn't vent, but the venting kind is more common.

Hi all! We have a 2012 3750FL, we are going to add the Splendide vented model in our camper. However, our camper does not have a vent going to the outside. I've talked to several people who have put their own vent in (non Montana owners), they said that their owners manual came with a template and told them exactly where to drill the hole. I called Keystone this morning and they told me that I would need to take it to a dealer. Does anyone know how to figure out where to drill my hole? Of course would have a pilot hole, but I'd rather not have a bunch of holes in my wall trying to find the right spot. Thanks.

I put unit in, determined where the vent needed to go. Removed unit, measured, measured again, measured again, then drilled pilot hole. Borrowed hole saw, measured again, drilled while praying all would be OK and it was.

We had the non-vented combo unit in our first Montana and HATED it! changed it out for a vented unit and was much happier. The non-vented unity takes a lot longer to dry and makes the room feel really humid.

As noted above, the Splendide combo comes in vented and non-vented models. The non-vented model, according to Splendide, is a "sealed" unit that uses cool water to condense the heated moisture from the clothes and flushes it out the drain, and does not add any moisture inside the RV. But does take longer to dry the clothes and uses much more water.
We have the vented combo and the vent goes out the side.
If you feel comfortable doing it, you should be able to use a stud finder (some have wood/metal sensitivity selection) to locate studs and, with a few measurements from the washer/dryer vent hose position/length, determine where to cut the hole in the side wall.

BB_TX - I disagree with Splendide. I've had both types of units and the unvented unit most surely does add moisture inside the RV. I had the 3900FB with the large front bathroom and it would feel like a sauna in there every time I did laundry. Once we had the vented unit installed, no more sauna.

We chose the vented based on reviews we had read. We are going to install it this weekend. Thanks for all the advise.
