Refer light
We were blowing light bulbs in the refer. After replacing a bulb, I noticed the light stayed on when the push switch was pushed in with the door open. I contacted Dometic and was told to check the low ambient switch on the refer. Sure enough, with the switch on, the light stay's on. With the ambient switch off, the light goes off when the door is shut. It would be nice if they included this in the owners manuel. If they do, I sure could not find it. Walt

The climate control switch is in the upper front panel of the freezer compartment. Where is the low ambient switch? Do you have the standard refrigerator?

BTW, we use the low ambient switch in the winter, when it is freezing outside, the food in the freezer will thaw out unless this switch is set.

OK, what and where is the low ambient switch? I went out and checked ours and cannot find anything named that.

Open the freezer door, and they are on the lower right hand side. At least that is where ours is.

We have the 10cf refer. If you open the freezer door both switches are above the freezer door mounted on the upper door jamb. If you have the low ambient switch, turn it on and push the light switch in by hand with the door open, and the light should stay on. With the switch off, the light should go out when you push the light switch in. I assume this feature supplies a little heat in side the refer when it is cold outside to keep the freezer walls and fins from icing up. Walt

I just looked in the manual...the standard refrig (#2862) does not have a 'low ambient' switch.
