The aluminum floor "joists" in the basement

The "ceiling" of our basements, those aluminum square tubes...Is there any good reason why I can't drill into these? I want to make some mezzanine shelving to store items and I would need to attach the suspension framework into these aluminum joists.

I just drilled into mine for the first time last weekend so it better be okay. So far the floor hasn't collapsed.

Would not think a few small holes would hurt anything

Drilling those holes should make the trailer a bit lighter and possibly give you 1 or 2 more Miles per Gal. while towing.
