Suburban oven temp calibration

Our Suburban oven temp is off 50-100 degrees. Is there a way to calibrate temp to dial?

Have you thought about moving the heat sensor further away from (or towards) the heat source?

Kentucky windage! If the knob is off 50 degrees from the actual temperature, just adjust the knob to where you now know where the desired temperature actually is.

If you can get an oven thermometer, then you calibrate the knob yourself. Just use a permanent marker and mark the increments. Start with the dial on the first "tick" mark (lowest setting), let the oven warm up to where the flame shuts off. Read the oven thermometer and note the actual temperature of the first tick mark. Now move up to the next tick mark and do the same. Repeat until you have all of the tick marks identified. Then you have your own calibration.
